An Action Research: A Morphosyntactic Analysis of Omani Students' Writing Through Photo-Elicitation

Abstract: This study uncovered the writing problems of Level 4, Foundation Students of Shinas College of Technology, Sultanate of Oman for the Second Semester of Academic Year 2014-2015. Photo-elicitation was used as a tool in prompting the students to write and determine their errors. The picture showed a plate with different kinds of food familiar to the respondents. The study grouped the writing problems of the students into morphology and syntax. Morphologically, the study recommends the need to have more spelling practice and a study of the parts of speech. Syntactically, the study recommends more extensive exercise with subject-verb agreement and sentence variety since the students only used the “There + is/are” pattern. Future researchers should further investigate on a comparative analysis of the writing problems of all Levels of the Foundation Program...

which include 162 textile mills. However, in this research, randomly 35 textile mills were chosen from entire sub-divisions. In percentile comprises approx 21.60 % of the whole population. This will help in analyzing impact of SME sector on economy of
Pakistan. The significant effect of dependent variable (stability of SME) on independent variables (Return on assets, Return on Equity,
Return on Capital Employed, Net Profit Margin, and Earnings per Share) of textile sector of Pakistan. The analysis shows moderate,
positive relationship of Return on Assets and weak, positive relationship of Return on Equity, Return on Capital Employed, Net Profit Margin, and Earnings per Share with stability of SME sector of Pakistan. Data sources are solely secondary and randomly selected mills

Tracing of Genes Involved in Biosynthesis of Penicillin and Its Detection by HPLC

Abstract: Filamentous fungi are typical producers of hundreds of bioactive secondary metabolites. In this study, at first fungi was done incubation in PDB culture and then 7 days of complete growth was extracted the antibiotic. After that the samples solve in in one
milliliter acetonitrile and prepared the chromatogram of HPLC. The penicillin content was estimated in extracted samples helping
penicillin G in standard chromatogram. The penicillin content of A. carneus. and A. flavus were assessment about 24.3µg/ml 85.01 µg/ml, respectively. In addition, DNA was extracted from species which had cultured in PDB media after one week. The chain polymerase
reaction was conducted based on standard protocol for pcbAB and pcbC genes and the quantity and quality of PCR products was
evaluated by 1.5% agarose gel. All extracted DNAs from fungi strains yielded a 200bp fragment for pcbAB and also a 250 bp fragment for pcbC which were analysed by electrophorese on 1.5% agarose gel. The results could provide some insignt about absence or essence of
major gens in some important species in industrial microbiology. Also molecular studies can be applied in manipulation of industrial

Characterization and Elemental Analysis of Fatty Acid Methyl Esters in Safflower Oil Biodiesel

Abstract: In this work, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) analyses were first time applied to monitor the synthesis, fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) composition, structural elucidation
and elemental concentrations in safflower oil biodiesel (SOB). FT-IR spectra appeared at 1741 cm-1. Signal at 1167 cm-1 showed unsaturation in SOB and the characteristic peak of Methoxy protons singlet at 3.66 ppm and triplet of α-CH2 proton at 2.27 ppm confirmed the presence of methyl esters in synthesized biodiesel. The appearance of methoxy peak proton (OCH3) on 1H NMR spectrum also reconfirms the conversion of safflower oil into FAMEs. The AAS analysis shows the presence of 14 elements (Na, Cd, Mn, Co, Fe, K, Li, Ca, Cr, Pb, Mg, Zn, Ni and Cu) with different concentrations in SOB...
